Tejashwi Yadav calls Assam CM Himanta ‘Chinese version of Yogi’ over decision to end Jumma break, BJP terms it ‘Racist'

Tejashwi Yadav, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, recently criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma by calling him a "Chinese version of Yogi" in response to Sarma's decision to end the Jumma (Friday) break for Muslim government employees in Assam. Yadav's remarks suggest that Sarma is imitating Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's methods of gaining attention and popularity but in a less original or authentic manner.

Tejashwi accused Sarma of stopping namaz (Muslim prayers) to gain cheap popularity, drawing a comparison to Yogi Adityanath, who is often in the news for his tough stances, including the use of bulldozers against illegal encroachments. The BJP has condemned Yadav's comments, labeling them as "racist" and disrespectful.
